We have an open position for an experienced Medical Assistant in our friendly, fast-paced family practice. All applicants must possess the following:

* Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or EMT program. 


Responsibilities

Report to Clinical Coordinator and/or Nurse Practitioner.

Perform nursing procedures under supervision of Nurse Practitioner.

Assist provider in exam rooms.

Escort patients to exam rooms, interviews patients, and measure vital signs including weight, blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and document all information in patient’s chart. Complete point of care testing, blood draws, assist with the administration of IVs, etc. under the direction of the provider.

Give instructions to patients as instructed by provider.

Ensure all related reports, labs and information is available in patients’ medical records prior to their appointment.

Keep exam rooms stocked with adequate medical supplies, maintain instruments, prepare sterilization as required.

Take telephone messages and provide feedback and answers to patient/physician/pharmacy calls.

Triage and process messages from patients and front office staff to providers. Maintain all logs and required checks (i.e. refrigerator temperatures, emergency medications, expired medications, oxygen, cold sterilization fluid change, etc.)

Knowledge

Medical assistants must have knowledge of:

Healthcare field and medical specialty

Medical terminology

Grammar, spelling, and punctuation

Knowledge of EHRs and scribing

Skills

Exceptional customer service and phone etiquette

Ability to maintain effective and organized systems to ensure timely patient flow

High school diploma; some college preferred

Medical assistant or current EMT certification preferred; Must have current CPR certification.

Sage Family Medicine

Job Description

Full-time PA position in an Occupational Medicine and Urgent Care Clinic. 12 to 14 shifts a month, (10 hour shifts), working one Saturday, every other month.  Some call may be required. $55 to $70 an hour depending on experience and full benefits package including Health, Dental, Vision, and Supplemental.  License renewals, CE’s and Professional Liability paid by the Clinic. Located in the heart of the Southwestern United States.  Will pay up to $5,000 for moving expenses.

Job Requirements

Providing acute care for the urgent care patients ranging in age from 6 months to the elderly. Providing care for work related injuries and illnesses.  Performing annual, DOT, and sports physicals.  On-site X-Ray, EKG,Audiometer, Slit-Lamp, and PFT.
