| In August 2009, after undergoing a rigorous on-site audit and offsite survey conducted by National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA), San Juan Independent Practice Association (San Juan IPA) received Physician Organization Certification in Credentialing and Recredentialing. San Juan IPA has been certified by NCQA since October 2003. | |||||||

The NCQA Accreditation Process is a nationally recognized evaluation
that purchasers, regulators, and consumers can use to assess managed
care plans. The NCQA Standards for Accreditation are intended to
help organizations achieve the highest level of performance
possible, reduce patient risk of untoward outcomes, and create an
environment of continuous improvement. Achieving PO Certification from NCQA demonstrates that San Juan IPA has the systems, process and personnel in place to continuously improve the quality of care it delivers, and to help health plan clients meet their accreditation goals. *=Credentialed Providers |
